Two Injured in Newark South Ward Shooting

Police in Newark are on the search for at least one gunman who fired shots in a neighborhood in the city's South Ward injuring two people.

According to a preliminary investigation, reports of shots fired sent police to the teen's block of Rose Terrace, at around 2 a.m., where officers arrived at the scene to find a male victim suffering gunshot wounds to the leg and buttocks.

Police searched the vicinity of the shooting scene where they also found a second victim suffering a gunshot wound to the leg reports said.

Both victims were transported to University Hospital where they are listed in stable condition.

Detectives taped off two crime scenes to launch their investigation and found some property damage resulting from the shooting.

The motive remains under investigation.
