Police in Newark actively investigating a shooting that sent a male to the hospital.
The early morning shooting occurred at around 4 a.m. in the 100 block of South 9th Street sending police to the scene where they found the victim struck by a bullet at that location.
EMS transported the victim to University Hospital suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the according to police.
The investigation is active and ongoing. There were no arrests reported.
