Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Deputy Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald announced that at approximately 11:48 p.m. on Saturday night, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, where a 29-year old male from Paterson sought treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.
Authorities said bsed on the initial investigation, the 29-year-old male later identified as Jacques Mills from Paterson, NJ was charged with Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution.
The sentencing exposure on Third Degree Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution is 3-5 years New Jersey State Prison.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
