EMS rushed a male victim, around the age of 46-years-old, to University Hospital suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the chest after a shooting incident on the Newark-Irvington border this evening.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the 400 block of Lyons Avenue near the Kicks USA at around 7 p.m. where officers arrived to find a male victim laying on the ground bleeding heavily from the chest at that location.
Newark Police immediately set up a crime scene where they launched an investigation into the shooting.
There were multiple shell casings found at the scene.
The suspect remains at-large.
