There is an active investigation underway into a shooting that caused property damage to homes in Newark's West Ward this afternoon.
Police were called to the 100 block of Smith Street near South Orange Avenue after they received reports of shots fired at around 2:10 p.m.
Units arrived at the scene canvassed the area and found that bullets shattered a window and penetrated the front door of a home at that location.
A neighboring home also received damage during the shooting according to reports.
Newark Police officials confirmed that their were no injuries in the incident.
Police closed of the block to traffic so that detectives could search for evidence to determine a possible motive for the shooting.
The suspect/s remain at-large.
