An exchange of multiple rounds of gunfire that erupted from suspects early this afternoon near a park in Newark had police on the scene investigating.
According to preliminary reports, the shooting occurred at around 1 p.m. when police received reports of two vehicles occupied by males who were exchanging gunfire in the 30's block of Lincoln Park.
Units arrived a the scene a found evidence that a shooting occurred but there were no injured victims.
Police began a search for two vehicles when they spotted a green Honda near the intersection of Irvine Turner Boulevard and Clinton Avenue shortly before 1:35 p.m.
Three suspects were taken into custody according to reports.
Police are trying to determine if the suspects are also wanted for a shooting that had a vehicle struck by bullets in the 300 block of Elizabeth Avenue shortly before the Lincoln Park shooting.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
