Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Deputy Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that at approximately 3:42 a.m., members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Peach and Plum streets on a report of shots fired.
Police said upon their arrival, officers were unable to locate a crime scene, however a short time later the police were advised that a 28-year-old male Paterson resident had arrived at the Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson for treatment of a non-fatal gunshot wound.
Based on the initial investigation the victim was working in a food truck in the area of Peach and Plum Street, when two masked men approached the victim and demanded money, when the victim refused he was shot once and the two actors immediately fled the area.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
