Authorities set up a crime scene at the intersection of Church and Market streets as detectives investigated a shooting that left a man critically injured overnight in Paterson.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out at a pool hall located at 183 Church Street shortly before 2:45 a.m. sending officers to the scene where they found a male victim suffering severe injuries.
EMS rushed the victim to St. Josephs Hospital where he was listed in grave condition according to authorities.
Police detained several people, but there were no arrests immediately reported.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
