Gunfire Strikes Man on Paterson Street; Separate Police Involved Shooting Investigated

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Deputy Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that at approximately 6:49 p.m. on November 29th, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to 72 Rosa Parks Boulevard Paterson, NJ on a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, police located a 20-year-old male Paterson resident, who sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound.

The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson for treatment.

Based on the initial investigation, the victim was in the area of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Keen Street when he was shot.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.

In a separate incident, Paterson authorities are investigating a police-involved shooting that occurred in the vicinity of North 5th and Jefferson streets shortly before 5:30 p.m.

Police fired on an armed man after attempting to have him drop a weapon.

The suspect ran from the scene and remain at-large. Police recovered a weapon at the scene.
