Police in Paterson are looking into a shooting that had one person injured in the city overnight.
Details regarding the incident are developing, but according to a preliminary investigation, officials at the St. Josephs Hospital contacted police after a person suffering a gunshot wound entered the hospital's emergency department at around 2 a.m. this morning.
After police arrived at the hospital to question the victim, they checked the 600 block of Main Street for a crime scene.
The victim was listed in stable condition as police continue to investigate the motive for the shooting.
There were no arrests immediately reported.
