A shooting that sent a person to the hospital early this morning in Newark has police investigating.
Several rounds of gunfire that erupted in the 20's block of Silver Street at around 2 a.m. sent police to the scene where they arrived to find a male victim suffering gunshot wounds at that location.
The injured male was transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment for serious injuries.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
There were no arrests reported.
