Man Arrested for Newark North Ward Shooting that Caused Injuries

Members of the Newark Police Departments' Fugitive Apprehension Team have arrested **Mr. Carlos Rojas, 23, of Newark**, who they said was wanted for an aggravated assault that occurred on July 22.

Police said at approximately 12:03 a.m., the victim reported to Newark Police officers that an unknown male armed with a gun shot him at an unspecified location.

Authorities said detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify Rojas as a suspect in this aggravated assault and later obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Police arrested Rojas on Thursday, August 3rd without incident then charged him with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

These charges are merely accusations.

The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
