Authorities in Newark are investigating two separate shooting that left four people shot in Newark overnight.
In the latest shooting incident, there are life-threatening injuries for a woman forum shot several times in the 300 block of 6th Avenue early this morning.
Residents dialed 911 after hearing what sounded like four gunshots on 6th Avenue sending police to the scene where they located the unconscious and unresponsive woman suffering a gunshot wound to the throat shortly after 3:15 a.m. according to reports.
EMS rushed the woman to University Hospital where her injuries were only reported as "life threatening" as of 4 a.m. **(UPDATE 5:22am This is a confirmed fatality)**
Police set up a crime scene where they searched for evidence to support a motive for the shooting.
In another shooting incident that occurred in the city's South Ward, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the teens block of Stratford Place a little after 10 p.m. where officers arriving at the scene found three people suffering injuries after being shot at that location.
The most severely injured at the Stratford Place scene was a woman found seriously injured after suffering a gunshot wound to the face.
The other two victims were males suffering non-life threatening injuries according to authorities.
There have been no arrests reported in any of the shootings.
Since Friday, there has been a total of 13 people injured from gunfire in Newark with two of the victims suffering fatally from their injuries. Three of the 13 victims have been women.
**UPDATED 5:22 a.m.** There are fatal injuries in the 6th Avenue shooting.
