A shooting that injured a man in Newark's West Ward on Friday evening is under investigation.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that erupted in the area of Alexander Street and Spencer Street shortly before 7 p.m. where they arrived to find a male victim bleeding from the leg after being shot at that location.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital in stable condition according to reports.
A crime scene established in the area had officers searching for evidence and possible suspects responsible for the shooting.
The motive is under investigation.
