Newark Police responded to the 200-block of Smith Street at approximately 3:45 p.m. on a call of shots fired.
Officers located a weapon at the location along with other items that the confiscated.
Detectives developed evidence that indicated Mr. Moses Martinez as a suspect in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Officers apprehended Mr. Martinez without incident on Monday.
Police charged Mr. Martinez with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
These charges lodged against Mr. Martinez are mere allegations. He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
