An Essex County judge sentenced a 23-year-old city to 17 years in prison for his role in a 2012 fatal robbery of a store owner.
Isiah Adams was charged as an accomplice to James Olbert when they held up the JNC Mini Mart , that's located at South 18th Street and 14th Avenue, and fatally shot the owner Miguel Torres on Jan. 16, 2012.
Authorities said Adams acted as the lookout man during the robbery.
Adams ultimately pleaded guilty to robbery and conspiracy charges under an agreement with the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
