A shooting in a neighborhood in Newark's North Ward has police investigating.
Reports of multiple rounds of shots fired that rang out in the 40's block of Woodside Place had police on the scene shortly before midnight.
Officers searching the area located more than a half dozen shell casings in the middle of the street but no victims were immediately found.
A bullet reportedly struck one of the homes in the area.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
