Linden Receives Free 12-Passenger Van to Transport Seniors

Linden

The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders delivered one of several free 12 passenger vans to the city of Linden.

The van is dedicated to transport senior residents to social and community events that they may not have otherwise been able to attend.

Union County Freeholders presented the van on September 24, 2017 to Linden officials who accepted the van.

Cosby-Hurling was the council liaison to the county for this effort and says, " I am looking forward to seeing many of our Linden Seniors in Motion, at city and county events ."

I am pleased that the council body decided to accept this gift from the Freeholders. In my ward, we have a large senior population and many of them do not have personal transportation this will be a welcome service that we can provide to the community at minimal costs. "

Details registration for rides and which scheduled events it will be at will be announced in the near future.

The van will be run through the Department of Public Property and Community Services.
