The Essex County Proseutor's Office is on the scene of a pedestrian strike that has a woman serious injured at this time in Newark.
The incident happened at the intersection of Adams Street and Warwick Street at around 4:30 p.m. sending emergency responders to the scene where a female victim was found suffering serious injuries a spokesperson for the Prosecutor's Office said.
The woman was rushed to University Hospital according to authorities.
A preliminary investigation indicated that a silver pickup truck possibly lost control and struck the older adult woman authorities said.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
UPDATE 6:51 p.m. This is a fatal pedestrian strike of a 91-year-old woman.
