Police are investigating a shooting that left a man injured in the city on Thursday morning.
Officials at the University Hospital contacted police when a male victim who was suffering a gunshot injury arrived at the hospital by a private vehicle shortly before 4 a.m.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the area of Delavan Avenue and Peabody Place where officers arrived at canvassed the scene.
Units found Shell casings and other evidence that a shooting had occurred according to reports.
It is not immediately clear if gunfire struck the victim at this location.
The victim's injuries were not reported as life threatening.
