A shooting on the 100 block of Mercer Street sent one person to the hospital in serious condition.
Shots rang out just after 3PM this afternoon in a neighborhood that is in close proximity to several schools.
A black male wearing a hoodie was observed by witnesses fleeing the scene east on Mercer Street.
Police set up a crime scene in the area collecting evidence and shell casings.
An investigation is underway.
