Authorities have arrested an Irvington man who was wanted for a Newark shooting in early spring.
Avcording to police Taysin Jones, 33, of Irvington was apprehended for a shooting that occurred on Thursday, March 24, 2016.
Police said at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area of Broadway and Second Avenue.
A 26-year old female victim was shot inside a residence.
Through their investigation detectives, identified Jones as the suspect responsible for the shooting. F.A.T. detectives arrested Jones today along with the FBI’s Fugitive Team.
Jones is charged with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Certain Persons Prohibited from Weapons Possession authorities said.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
