There are active investigations underway into three shootings that caused injuries in Newark.
In the most serious incident that occurred overnight, gunfire erupted in the area of North 7th Street and Park Avenue at around 11 p.m. rushing several police units to the scene where a brief search of the area had cops locate a male victim suffering several gunshot wounds.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital in Newark where he underwent surgery after being shot to the abdomen and back according to reports.
The man, who is reported to be in his late 20's, was listed in serious but stable condition.
Shortly before 9:30 p.m., reports of shots fired sent police to the 100 block of First Street where officers arrived to find a male victim shot at that location.
The victim was transported to University Hospital suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the foot.
Police setup a crime scene in the area where they searched for evidence and possible suspects.
In the final shooting incident reported during the overnight, a male victims, who was transported by private vehicle suffering a gunshot injury to the leg, had officials at University Hospital contact police shortly before 10:30 p.m.
The victim pointed cops to the area of 12th Street and 11th Avenue where arriving units found shell casings at that location.
The victim's injuries were not reported as life threatening.
Newark Police are looking into the motives for the three shooting.
**NOTE:** Police are investigating an early Tuesday morning shooting that had a man injured in the teens block of North 6th Street.
The victims entered University Hospital at around 2 a.m. suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
There were no arrests reported in the shooting.
