Authorities in Paterson are investigating separate shootings that injured two in the city.
Police said an 18-year-old man arrived at St. Joseph's Hospital at around 3 a.m. Sunday by private vehicle injured by gunfire.
Authorities checked the area of 12th Avenue and Carroll Street for a crime scene and other evidence.
In another shooting that happened earlier in the evening, Police rushed to the area of Spring and Weiss streets after receiving reports of shots fired.
A search of the area had cops located evidence that a shooting had occurred but no victim when they arrived at about 11:30 p.m.
Hospital officials from St. Joseph's contacted police when a 48-year-old man arrived with a gunshot wound to his leg, authorities said.
According to the victim, an SUV carrying several men pulled up to the area and began to fire shots in his direction shortly before he arrived at the hospital.
Police have not made any arrests in either incidents.
