Newark Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a vehicle wanted in connection with a shooting that injured a work release inmate in the area of Frelinghuysen Avenue and Toler Place on Labor Day
According to police, at approximately 6:45 a.m., officers responded to the location on a call of multiple shots fired. Responding officers located two victims who had been shot.
One victim is a work release inmate heading to work. Both victims were transported to an area hospital and are listed in stable condition.
A parked gray 2003 4-door Lincoln LS was also struck by multiple gunshots.
As part of an intense investigation, detectives have determined that the below pictured vehicle (left) was involved in this shooting.
The vehicle pictured on the right is not the actual vehicle, but is provided to offer additional clarity in identifying the suspect vehicle.
The suspect vehicle is believed to be a white Chrysler 300, year 2010 to 2013, with a panoramic roof and tinted windows.
While police are actively searching for the suspect(s) and the pictured vehicle, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing them from our streets police said.
This investigation is active and ongoing.
