An investigation is underway into a shooting that injured a man in Newark's North Ward overnight.
Reports of shots fired that rang out in the area of Oriental Street and Broadway shortly before 12:30 AM sent police to the scene where officers found a male victim suffering a gunshot wound at that location.
The victim was transported by EMS to University Hospital where he suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the arm according to reports.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
There were no immediate reports of arrests.
