A late night shooting that sent one person to the hospital is under investigation in Elizabeth.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the area of the 600 block of Maple Avenue at around 9:30 p.m. where officers arrived to find one person injured by gunfire according to reports.
The victim was transported to the hospital reportedly suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the face.
Police searched several blocks in the vicinity of the Mravlag Manor housing complex for a crime scene and possible suspects who were responsible for the shooting.
There were no immediate reports of arrests made.
The incident remains under investigation.
