Police have a crime scene established in the five hundred block of Springfield Avenue after a male victim was injured by gunfire earlier this morning.
Residents said about 3-4 shots rang out in the area sourounding South 10th Street and South 11th Street at around 6:30 a.m. sending police to the scene to investigate.
A male victim was rushed to University Hospital suffering multiple gunshot wounds -reportedly to the chest- according to reports.
Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose confirmed that the victim is in stable condition and the motive for the shooting is unknown.
There have been no arrests made at this time Director Ambrose said.
The shooting remains under investigation.
