Woman, Man Injured in Jersey City Shooting

Authorities in Jersey City are investigating a double shooting that caused injuries in the city overnight.

Gunfire rang out in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Myrtle Avenue at around midnight sending several police units to the scene where cops found two people suffering injury from being shot.

According to reports, the most seriously injured was a 20-year-old female victim who suffered gunshot injuries to the hip and buttocks while the 28-year-old male victim was struck to the hand.

The pair were transported to Jersey City Medical Center where their injuries were not reported to be life threatening as of 4:30 a.m.

The motive for the shooting is under investigation by Jersey City Police.

There were no immediate reports of arrests made.
