Woodbridge Crash Leaves Orange Police Captain Suffering Severe Injuries

An Orange Police Captain is suffering severe injuries after a car crashed into his police motorcycle in Woodbridge this morning.

According to police officials, the crash happened at around 11:37 a.m. near the intersection of Minna and Avenel Street.

Officials say Orange Police Captain William Boggier was on detail and conducting a funeral escort when a vehicle struck him near the intersection,

According to reports, the Captain Boggier was knocked unconscious due to the impact of the crash where he suffered a broken pelvis, broken wrist, multiple leg fractures and a head injury.

EMS rushed Captain Boggier to University Hospital in Newark where he remains in critical condition.

Woodbridge Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
