Wood-Ridge Man Charged with Possession, Distribution of Explicit Images of Minors

Authorities in Bergen County announced the arrest of Galo A. Fernandez, 24, of Wood-Ridge, on charges of possession and distribution of explicit images of minors.

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella reported that the arrest results from an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

Officials stated on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of Galo Fernandez during a months-long Internet investigation of explicit images of minors.

Authorities say the investigation revealed that Fernandez used the Internet to view, download, possess, distribute, and share items depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent minors.

According to officials, as a result of the investigation, Galo Fernandez was arrested on Wednesday, September 13, in Paramus and charged with second-degree distribution of explicit images of minors and third-degree possession of explicit images of minors.

Fernandez was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ, officials say.
