Bergen County authorities are investigating a shooting that injured a female victim in Bergenfield Sunday evening.
Police say at approximately 6:50 p.m., gunfire rang out at 87 North Taylor Street, prompting an investigation.
Upon arrival, police found the severely injured victim suffering gunshot wounds to her leg and shoulder.
She was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment and is in severe condition.
Police say the victim suffered as many as five bullet wounds during the encounter with the gunman.
No arrests have been reported.
An investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Bergenfield Police under the direction of Mustafa Rabboh.
No other information is available at this time.
