A female gunshot victim is being rushed to University Hospital in serious condition after being shot in Newark this evening.
Police say gunfire rang out in the area of 14th Avenue and South 12th Street just before 4:40 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering a gunshot wound at that location.
Police have a crime scene established in the area as officers search the neighborhood for evidence.
The victim was shot during a carjacking where the suspect stole the car.
Police say the vehicle is a green 4-door 2017 Audi A4 with reported NJ license plate numbers F67-NRH.
There are no arrests reported.
