Jersey City Police are investigating a shooting incident that left a woman injured after a bullet pierced her home early Sunday morning.
The gunfire erupted just before 4:10 a.m. in the 100 block of Warner Avenue.
Responding officers arrived to find that a residence had been struck by at least one round.
During their search of the home, police discovered a 23-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her arm.
She was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where she is expected to survive her injuries.
At this time, investigators have not determined who fired the weapon or whether the woman was intentionally targeted or struck by a stray bullet.
The incident remains under an active and ongoing investigation. No additional details were immediately released.
