Woman Hospitalized After Early Sunday Morning Shooting in Trenton

A woman was rushed to Capital Health Regional Medical Center after being shot in Trenton early Sunday morning, authorities said.

According to preliminary information, police responded to reports of gunfire around 5:10 a.m. in the 100 block of Passaic Street. 

When officers arrived, they found an unidentified female suffering from a gunshot wound.

Investigators believe the shooter is a man known to the victim. 

He reportedly fled the scene following the incident and remains at large.

The victim's injuries were not immediately reported as life-threatening. The motive behind the shooting is under investigation, and no arrests have been announced. 

Trenton police continue to search for the suspect.
