Essex Prosecutor: Woman Found Dead Inside Bloomfield Residence Under Investigation

Bloomfield

The State Regional Medical Examiners Office will determine the official cause of death for a woman found dead inside a Bloomfield residence on Monday.

Bloomfield Police and detectives were observed on the scene looking into reports of an injured person at a residence in the 200 block of Glenwood Avenue on Sunday, September 29th before 9:30 p.m.

Several public requests for general information regarding the incident to the Blomfield Police Department, during the week, went unanswered.

Our return to the neighborhood on Thursday had residents from the large multi-family mixed occupancy building inform RLS staff that the woman was carried away in a body bag prompting our crew to request information from county authorities.

A statement released by The Essex County Prosecutor's Office indicated that their Major Crimes Task Force is conducting an active and ongoing investigation into the fatality of the unidentified woman who police found unconscious and unresponsive inside an apartment of the building.

We could not immediately "confirm" the manner in which the woman was found or if she incurred blunt physical trauma.

The Prosecutor's Office has not officially charged anyone in regards to the woman's death at this time.
