A female gunshot victim suffered non-fatal injuries after being shot in a section of Newark's North Ward Saturday afternoon.
Officials at University Hospital notified Newarl Police when a female entered the emergency room while suffering a bullet wound around noon.
After a further investigation, police learned that the victim was shot in the vicinity of Garside and Victoria.
Officers located the crime scene and are continuing to investigate.
Police in Newark are also investigating circumstances surrounding a person who entered University Hospital suffering a non-life-threatening gunshot wound early Saturday morning.
Just before 2:10 a.m., a male walked into University Hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to his leg.
Police are investigating the motive for his shooting and have not reported where the man suffered his injuries.
Both shootings are under investigation and no arrests have been reported.
