Authorities in Newark are looking into an incident in which a woman and her 5-year-old child were struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon.
According to Director Emanuel Miranda, police responded at approximately 1:18 p.m. on December 23, 2025, to a report of two pedestrians struck at the intersection of Central Avenue and South 9th Street.
Responding officers located a woman and her young child who had been hit by a vehicle.
Both victims were transported to University Hospital for evaluation of complaints of pain and treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Both are reported to be in stable condition.
The driver remained at the scene, and the incident remains under investigation.
