The impending storm threatens to blanket the Newark area with 1-3 inches of snow, reminiscent of Tuesday's conditions.

While a winter weather advisory is in effect for Friday's northern New Jersey storm, NWS officials urge locals to bundle up against the sub-freezing temperatures today.

The good news is that winds are expected to taper off this afternoon, slightly easing the cold's grip.AdToday's forecast indicates mostly cloudy skies with a high near 31 degrees. Wind chill values will hover between 10 and 20, with a gentle southwest wind at 6 to 8 mph.
