Wife of Jets Cornerback Claims Was a Victim of Racially Biased Traffic Stop in Madison

Madison

Madison Police Department this afternoon released a statement in response to accusations made by wife of New York Jets corner back Antonio Cromartie.

Terricka Cromartie after a traffic stop in Madison Friday morning took to Instagram saying she was "pulled over for driving black in Madison."

She then went on to post a video of the incident as well as comments claiming that she had been pulled over for no reason (Video and comments have since been removed).

According to the Madison Police Department, due to the nature of the allegation, this agency has referred the case to the proper county authority as per the NJ Attorney General guidelines.

Ms. Cromartie was stopped for operating a motor vehicle while on a cell phone and having tinted windows, Chief of Police Darren P. Dachisen Sr. said this afternoon.

The chief added that the summonses will be adjudicated in the Madison Municipal Court in the near future. Ms. Cromartie’s allegations will be thoroughly and objectively investigated to their logical conclusion.
