Fire officials in West Orange are investigating the cause of a two alarm house fire that broke out overnight in the 100 block of Watson Ave. sending three people (including a firefighter) to the hospital.
Firefighters were called reports of fire in a house located at 155 Watson Ave. shortly before 10:30 a.m. where they arrived to find the two-story house heavy engulfed in flames and occupants trapped.
Crews entered the residence where two people were trapped on the second floor of the house. Firefighters rescued the pair using a ladder a short time after locating them. The victims were taken to St. Barnabas Burn Center in Livingston with non-life threatening injuries.
The fire was was brought under control shortly after 1 a.m. with a firefighter taken to St. Barnabas Hospital suffering minor injuries.
