Police in Newark are investigating at least three weekend shooting that occurred around the city.
Reports of shots fired that rang out in the 90's block of Smith Street had police on the scene Saturday evening at around 11 p.m. where a search of the area had officers find several shell casings. Police are looking for two black males that fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
In another shooting incident, polices searched the 20's block of Orchard Street at around 3 a.m. Sunday morning after receiving reports of shots fired. Police located evidence that a shooting occurred at that location.
In the final shooting incident, police closed off the 80's block of Mercer Street after gunfire rang out in the area Sunday shortly before 4:45 p.m.
Officers found several shell casings as they searched for a motive for the shooting.
There were no injuries reported in any of the shootings or arrests made.
The investigations are active and ongoing.
