Warrant Issued for Woman Wanted for Assault, Theft in Newark

A warrant has been issued for Markita S. Fleming, a.k.a. Marketa Seymor and Marketa Fleming, 39, of Newark for an Aggravated Assault and Theft that occurred on a Friday, In late July of this year on Hedden Terrace authorities said.

According to authorities, officers responding to a call of sick or injured person encountered a female victim who was bleeding and had a large bump on her head.

Fleming, accompanying the victim, who was unable to speak with officers, told them the victim was intoxicated and had fallen on the sidewalk and hit her head police said.

The victim was transported to UMDNJ for treatment and later reported to police that she was hit in the head by Fleming with a weapon and robbed.

After an intense investigation, Newark Police developed evidence that Markita S. Fleming is a suspect in this aggravated assault and theft. Bail for Fleming has been set at $40,000.00 authorities said.

These mere accusations lodged against Fleming.

She is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
