Warrant Issued for Newark Man Wanted for Shooting Incident

Newark authorities report that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Larry Pressley, 33, of Newark, who is wanted in connection with an aggravated assault shooting that occurred on Thursday, February 8, 2024.AdOfficials stated that at approximately 10:40 p.m., Police responded to a call of shots fired at Mapes Avenue near Hunterdon Street.

Responding officers located multiple spent shell casings at the scene, along with property damage due to gunfire, officials say. 

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said no injuries have been reported as a result of this incident.

According to officials, shooting detectives have identified Larry Pressley as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, conspiracy, and certain persons prohibited from weapon possession.AdLarry Pressley is also wanted for unlawful possession of a weapon following the execution of a search warrant that was conducted on February 25, 2024, officials said.
