Warrant Issued for Newark Man Wanted for Aggravated Assault Shooting

Police are seeking the public’s help in locating Eury F. Torres-Silverio, 25, of Newark, who is wanted for a shooting that occurred on Dec. 24th.

According to authorities, at approximately 9 p.m., detectives on patrol in the area of Central Avenue and 7th Street heard gunshots coming from the Exxon Service Station at 481 Central Avenue.

Upon arrival, detectives observed a silver 4-door Toyota Camry exiting the gas station and driving erratically. Although police attempted to make a motor vehicle stop, the Camry fled on South 7th Street.

As part of their investigation, detectives determined that a second vehicle which also fled the gas station, believed to be a silver or light colored Volkswagen, was also involved in the incident.

Detectives developed sufficient evidence to secure a warrant for the arrest of Eury F. Torres-Silverio on charges of Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

While police are actively searching for Torres-Silverio, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from our streets.
