WANTED: Newark Police Search for Bergen County Man Wanted for Shots Fired Incident

Newark Police issued a warrant for the arrest of Mr. Roy Wilson, 33, of Hackensack, on two counts of aggravated assault for an incident last night.

Police said shortly after 9:15 p.m., Police responded to the area of Schuyler Avenue near Nye Avenue on a call of a shots fired call.

According to police, the suspects allegedly fired a weapon following a quarrel.

No injuries were reported as a result of this shooting, police said.

The suspect fled in a black Nissan Pathfinder and responding officers attempted a motor vehicle stop.

The driver ignored the officers’ commands to stop and fled.

Police say the suspect collided with another vehicle on Elizabeth Avenue, where the suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot, heading toward I-78 and eluding apprehension.

Detectives investigating this incident identified Roy Wilson as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

While police are actively searching for Wilson, they seek the public’s help in quickly locating him as part of this investigation.

He is described as 6-ft. tall and 180 pounds. He has a light brown complexion, black hair and brown eyes.
