Senior Counsel Philip Lamparello said Rasheed Amin, 47, of Voorhees, was sentenced to 133 months in prison after previously pleading guilty before U.S. District Judge Christine P. O’Hearn. Amin admitted to conspiring to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine and to being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Court records and statements made during the proceedings show that on multiple occasions in 2024, Amin traveled from Philadelphia to various cities in the western United States to obtain large quantities of cocaine for distribution.

After acquiring the drugs, he shipped packages containing the cocaine through the mail to his home in Voorhees and to other locations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York.

The operation came to an end on October 29, 2024, when law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Amin’s Voorhees residence. Investigators recovered several kilograms of cocaine along with a loaded firearm.

Prosecutors said Amin, who had previously been convicted of a felony, admitted that both the cocaine and the gun recovered from the home belonged to him.
