Violent Suspect Wanted for Shooting Two Victims During Jersey City Robberies

Police in Jersey City are searching for a violent armed suspect who committed at least two robberies that caused bodily harm overnight. 

According to a preliminary investigation, in the first incident, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out at 770 Garfield Avenue shortly before 9 p.m. 

Units arrived at the Valero gas station and found a person suffering a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. 

The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment and is expected to recover. 

Police say the incident resulted from a robbery where the suspect began firing shots at the victim. 

In another incident, police believe that the same suspect is wanted for a shooting that occurred at a chicken shack eatery located at 40 Crescent Avenue. 

According to police, officers responded to reports of a shooting in progress at the Crown Fried Chicken around 9:40 p.m. 

When police arrived, they found a gunshot victim at the establishment. EMS rushed the injured to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment. 

Police say the suspect also attempted to rob the Danforth Deli located at 289 Danforth Avenue around 8:30 p.m., but no injuries were reported. 

Police say that the suspect is armed, dangerous, violent and remains at large.
