The search is on for a suspect that committed a robbery that turned into a violent assault in the city this evening.
Police responded to the 90's block of North Jefferson Street shortly before 5:15 p.m. on reports of an armed robbery in progress.
Units arrived to the scene where they located the victim bleeding heavily after being assaulted by the suspect during the robbery of a cell phone.
The suspect is being described as a light skin black male around the age 14-18 who was last seen wearing a black bubble jacket with white stripes.
EMS treated the victim for a large laceration.
