Police in Irvington Township are investigating a shooting that left a man injured early Thursday morning.
Details surrounding the incident remain limited as authorities continue an active and ongoing investigation. 
According to preliminary information, officials at University Hospital in Newark notified law enforcement shortly before 4:30 a.m. after a male victim arrived at the emergency department suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm.
The victim’s injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.
Authorities said the victim told investigators the shooting occurred in the area of Grove Street in Irvington.
As of Thursday morning, investigators had not publicly confirmed whether they located a crime scene connected to the shooting.
Detectives are continuing to gather evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The investigation remains active.
